Trevor Darin Top died unexpectedly of natural causes on December 27, 2021, in Depoe Bay, Oregon. Trevor was born on February 24, 1967, in the Canal Zone in Panama to Ferris Top and Deanne Seyfert. He spent his childhood in Lake Oswego, Oregon graduating from Lakeridge High School in 1985.
He attended the University of California, Santa Barbara majoring in Latin America Studies and Environmental Studies, later also receiving a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Tulane University. Trevor was the founder of the Prague Summer Writer's Workshop administered by the Central European University and University of New Orleans and hosted workshops in Budapest, St. Petersburg, and Mexico City.
He traveled extensively, particularly enjoying trips through Central and South America. He became a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves after Hurricane Katrina helping in the reconstruction of New Orleans. Trevor moved back to his home state of Oregon in 2014, settling in next to the sea cliff coastline of Depoe Bay.
